Official Anthem of the CPDA: The Internationale

Fulfilling the CPDA's One Year Plan. Details are provided here:…
Dear comrades of the CPDA,

Due to the busy nature of my offline life, I am extending this year's Congress until the end of next week. Traditionally, the Congress ends today on the 21st November.

We still have several topics to present, although it would seem the matter of Party elections may require some discussion as well.

In solidarity,

Also, what do you guys think about the Venus Project?

I have a few gripes with it, but ultimately, its like high-tech Communism in some ways.…

The Venus Project has come up from time to time. It's very interesting, bold, and visionary. Whether it's aims are completely in line with Communist ideology could be debatable, but the premise itself is sound.

Only their ways to implement the thing are what I disagree with. They want to depend on donations from the upper class and support from politicians to bring it into existence.

That being said...

I don't think I have to explain to Marxists and Communists what may be wrong with that approach. ;)

I have a query. Pro-Capitalists often use the Human Nature argument, saying that Greed and Selfishness is natural, while Socialists and Communists usually say that Human Nature is able to change due to the material and social conditions they find themselves in. I am an advocate of the latter, and I would like to use myself as an example.

Despite living in a Capitalist country, I feel absolutely no need to become rich or exploit others just because someone says its in my nature and these things will always happen no matter what. I do not believe that. I am perfectly comfortable with not acting selfish and I feel as if I do not have it in me to bring harm to other human beings even if it will make me rich and/or powerful. I am perfectly content with living a low-key, satisfying, secure, and happy lifestyle even if my happiness is not shown with excess wealth. I don't give a crap about having fancy cars or a big house- I just want to live comfortably and peacefully. All I would like is a job that I enjoy, a house big enough to live in, and the comfort of knowing that I won't starve or be evicted. I would also like to raise a family, and be able to provide the very same things for them, but that's about it. Hell, I don't even like money that much, and if It wasn't absolutely necessary to have for everything in this society, then I would stay away from the stuff altogether.

However, I do know that many people have ambitions that are much higher than mine, as in trying to get rich or start a business. Perhaps I'm just a Minimalist, and that is why Socialism or Communism don't bother me, but this is how I truly feel. I am not suppressing any urges to exploit or feelings of greed. I don't have to try to feel like this- I just do.

What is a Communist's perspective on this? Would you guys consider this proof that Human Nature is not constant? Or am I just some kind of anomaly?

My critique of capitalism and the production of value is negative: It is destined to failure, to break down. Whether "human nature" (whatever that means) can cope with this is a different question. The breakdown of society based on commodity production and markets is guaranteed - communism is not.

Today november 9th the world celebrates the Fall of the Berlin Wall, the fall of a communism Bastille made by communists to keep East Germans enslaved and forbid freedom of movement and the freedom to flee a corrupt and tyranical regime in favor of the democracy and capitalism of the West. Communism undisputet proof of ultimate failure oppression! Capitalism is alive and not failing, communism died 25 years ago, it failed but children with head up Marxs ass can't see that.

Capitalism, like all currently living things, will someday die. It has but several decades to live (at most). The fact that some backward-ass capitalist dictatorships failed means nothing: Capitalism constantly sets up dictatorships like East Germany, Mugabe and Ghadaffi all the time. It's no big deal.

Note that Darwinism and Evolution show that cooperation, grouping efforts, even altruism and all is a good strategy too to face the difficulties that Nature offer. The evolutionary success of the eusocial insects and the Meerkat specie, by example perhaps.

You're quite right about that!

Alas on the same kinda trend, we are seeing perhaps a return of 'scientifical racism' and all under the guise of population genetics bits... :/ and so this bullshit on 'selfish human nature', 'survival of fittest" and all, refitted. -_-

Frankly, I tend to side with your perspective. Most people tend to be content with less extravagant tastes, satisfied even. I myself am such a person. However, as the maligned One Percent demonstrates, there are indeed more than a few who see no trouble with living up to the Social Darwinist ideal.

Yet for every one of them, there are thousands who have demonstrated that human nature is time and again about pulling together to help each one another. Usually so long as it doesn't dramatically cut into any one individual's own well-being, admittedly. That is why the construction of a Socialist society would even further that sentiment.

Well, that is my opinion, anyway.

I agree with you. But at first I thought I was some kind of freak for not wanting to be rich- although after giving it some thought, I now realize how silly that seems. Thanks for your perspective on things! :)
