The Right is Censoring. Not the Left:
Note: I know that there is legitimate instances of "the left" pushing for censorship in some cases and areas. But the blatant lie of a narrative has finally been revealed.
Unsurprising to be honest. At least in my opinion.

French Young Communists on ProtestsHere in France, the police must serve the people The MOVEMENT OF YOUNG COMMUNISTS OF FRANCE calls for a complete overhaul of policing following the police killing in Nanterre and subsequent protests and riots that have broken out nationwideTHE national council of the Movement of Young Communists of France (MJCF), held in Paris on July 1-2, shares the public’s indignation after Nahel, a 17-year-old boy, was killed by a police officer in Nanterre on June 27.First of all, we want to express our solidarity with the victim’s family. It appears on videos online that nothing can justify the police officer’s use of his gun.Refusing to comply with orders does not legitimise an execution; this is no regular police intervention, but a murder.Following this event, anger and emotion are legitimate and to be expected. It has led to violent confrontations with the police and destruction of public buildings.Neighbours will be the first victims of this rioting. These deteriorations are regrettable, however, only justice, a fair sentence for those responsible, will be able to bring appeasement; the fact that the police officer has been charged with murder is a good sign.Even though the violent events on the streets are not political revolts, they do have a political background. But the lack of political organisation leads the youth to transform anger into revenge — uncontrolled violent acts. This reinforces our will to build the MJCF as the political organisation able to speak to every young person in France, particularly those who are currently excluded from existing organisations. The MJCF considers that although this murder does not shame all police officers as individuals, it must lead to major changes in the institution. The relationship between police and the people, particularly in poorer neighbourhoods, is too often ruled by violence, confrontation, humiliation and racist discrimination.Racial profiling and police violence are common. Other murders were committed on grounds of “refusal to comply” in 2023.The lack of public services and mass unemployment in these neighbourhoods make the youth feel like an underclass — the promise of republican equality for all those that live in our national territory is broken.Twenty years after the 2005 events, where the three weeks of rioting followed the deaths of two young people fleeing the police in the poor suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois, the core issues remain unsolved if not amplified. At the same time, the 2017 Public Security Act relaxed the use of guns during police stops. The blurred legal framework introduced by this law enables a police officer to shoot without his life being endangered. This law creates a sense of impunity in certain policemen.Today, the right and the far right reveal their violent and racist faces. Refusing to denounce Nahel’s murder and lying about his criminal record are a class reaction against calling into question the police as an institution.By talking about “civil war” and calling for the army to lead the repression, rightwingers hope to benefit from these events and implement their authoritarian, racist and anti-democratic agenda. They also hide the core social issues. Some small far-right organisations have used the events to attack young people and supporters Nahel’s family, like in Angers. The 43rd national congress of the MJCF declared: “The MJCF calls for a republican national police that serves citizens and defends community policing.“Formation and recruitment must be reinforced to implement a public service focused on prevention before repression.”In this framework, we call for justice for Nahel and his family, the repeal of the first article from the 2017 Public Security Act, the repeal of mandatory identity checks, and the creation of a National Police Violence Observatory, under public control, to identify and analyse acts of violence committed by police officers and their administrative and judiciary treatment. It must lead to the exclusion of police officers who committed violent or racist acts. The MJCF calls to transform the justified anger against the police into a strong movement to turn the police into an institution that serves people’s interests.
Sudanese Communists call for CeasefireAs civilian deaths mount in Sudan military feud, Communists call for immediate ceasefire Sudanese Communists are calling for an “immediate” ceasefire as the civilian casualty count in the bitter struggle for power between Sudan’s army and a notorious paramilitary force hit almost 100 dead and around 600 wounded. The fierce fighting in the capital, Khartoum, and other areas has dealt a new blow to hopes for a transition to democracy and raises fears of a wider conflict. The clashes capped months of heightened tensions between the military, headed by General Abdel-Fattah Burhan, and its partner-turned-rival, the Rapid Support Forces group (RSF), led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. Those tensions had delayed a deal with political parties to get the country back to its short-lived transition to democracy, which was derailed by an October 2021 military coup. There were chaotic scenes in the Khartoum, with fighters firing from truck-mounted machine guns in densely-populated neighborhoods. “Fire and explosions are everywhere,” said Amal Mohamed, a doctor in a public hospital in Omdurman. “We haven’t seen such battles in Khartoum before,” said resident Abdel-Hamid Mustafa.By the end of the day, the military ruled out negotiations with the RSF, instead calling for the dismantling of what it called a “rebellious militia.” The head of the paramilitary group responded by branding the armed forces chief a “criminal.” The tough language signaled that the conflict between the former allies, who jointly orchestrated the 2021 coup, was likely to continue. The Sudanese Communist Party (SCP) said: “The victims of the continuing violence and counter-violence are the people who have been striving for the continuation of the revolution and achieving full democratic civil power. “The way back to normal life begins with an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, the departure of armies and militias from the cities and villages, and keeping them far from citizens’ gatherings in towns and rural areas.” It explained that the conflict was “a continuation of the struggle over power and the country’s wealth, encouraged by some foreign powers and being carried out by armed groups subservient to these foreign powers.” The SCP said: “These bloody clashes and their continuation is what our party has been warning about, and they are spreading confusion and fear among citizens.” The Communist Party said that the only basis for ending the current crisis and to reclaim the Sudanese revolution of April 2021 was the “unity of our people, all the patriotic forces, the forces for radical change, and the resistance committees.” Morning Star
Brazilian Communists Struggle Against Coup AttemptBrazilian Communist Party: Mass struggle against coup d'état! Fascists will not pass! The following statement was issued by the National Political Commission of the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB): On the afternoon of that Sunday, January 8, supporters of Jair Bolsonaro invaded the National Congress and tried to occupy buildings of other public bodies, with the intention of promoting disturbances and giving rise to a coup d'état. This movement has been articulated for months by sectors of the Brazilian ultra-right, which has strong financial support from businessmen and segments of the military police and the Armed Forces. In different media, extreme right groups have openly guided demonstrations of non-recognition of election results and attacks on democracy. The images that circulate on social networks and also in the television press leave no doubt as to the prevarication of part of the police forces in Brasília, which, in addition to having a staff far below what should have been there to contain this announced attack, also facilitated in several parts the passage of the scammers. It was already known that about a hundred buses had arrived at the federal capital with coup demonstrators. This fact is not unique: after the announcement of Lula's victory, coup actions were plotted in broad daylight, such as those that took place in Brasília on December 24 or with the attempt to blow up a tank truck at Brasília airport, at on the eve of the end of the Bolsonaro government, to spread chaos, hatred, confrontation with institutions, and prepare the ground for a possible military intervention. The PCB understands that there is a clear attack on democratic bodies underway. We demand an immediate investigation and punishment of the authorities that prevaricated and made this disastrous episode possible. We demand investigations to identify the leaders and financiers of these actions and their arrest. The moment demands an effective and articulated response from all popular and social movements, democratic entities and leftist parties against neo-fascism and its terrorist groups, with a strong unity of action. Thus, we propose: 1. An emergency meeting of the national leaderships of the parties of the left and of the progressive field, to articulate actions and mobilizations against the coup agitations, with imprisonment for coup leaders and dismissal for servants complicit in the coup attempt. 2. Articulation in the states of mass acts denouncing the coup agitations and demanding the arrest of the articulators of the coup agitations. 3. Organization of broad state plenaries to denounce coup attempts and in defense of democratic freedoms! Fascists will not pass!

AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL WORKING PEOPLE
                                         FROM THE COMMUNIST PARTY

Dear comrade, sister or brother,

The Communist Party is writing to you as one of the millions of people whose work keeps our society going in good times and bad.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the value of all those workers who have continued to provide the goods and services that we all need to survive.

Despite their efforts, the virus has claimed more than 32,000 lives in Britain so far. We have a death rate per head of population FIVE times higher than Germany, TWICE as high as the US, higher than every major European country except Belgium, Italy and Spain - and 150 TIMES higher than China.

That's the price being paid for decades of under-investment and privatisation in the NHS and social care in England, Scotland and Wales.

We have some of the biggest drug companies in the world - but they spend far more on advertising than on researching and developing new vaccines and cures for deadly diseases.

Financial and property services have come to dominate our economy, while our manufacturing base has been shrunk.

We no longer have the capacity to manufacture the personal protective equipment (PPE), testing kits and ventilators on the scale necessary in a pandemic emergency. Instead, Britain has to go shopping cap-in-hand to Turkey and China.

Who is to blame?

Tory and LibDem coalition governments cannot escape a major share of the blame for past failures. They ignored and covered up the findings of 'Exercise Cygnus' in 2016. Carried out across the NHS and social services, it warned that we had nothing like the levels of staff, PPE, beds, machines and medicines needed to deal with a severe pandemic.

Despite reports of a deadly new virus in China from January 2020, and the World Health Organisation naming COVID-19 as a 'very grave threat for the rest of the world' on February 11, no serious emergency measures were taken in Britain until mid-March.

More fundamentally, the British economy is one which puts shareholders' profits before the needs of our society and people. Big companies and 'market forces' - those who have the most to spend - decide what is produced. There is no overall planning.

What should be done?

Early in this crisis, the Communist Party proposed:

PPE AND SPECIALIST TRAINING urgently for all medical and frontline staff, including those in supermarkets, prisons and welfare establishments.

National and regional FORUMS of central and local government, health and medical bodies and trade unions and employers’ organisations to coordinate anti-crisis measures.

Close INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION with China and Cuba where effective action was being taken.

Direction of the PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY to meet the needs of the people during and immediately after the current crisis.

FINANCIAL HELP for all workers, small business, the self-employed, tenants, students and benefit claimants in need as a result of emergency anti-pandemic measures.

Who's going to pay?

After the 2008 financial crash, the £1 trillion bill for bailing out the bankers and City speculators was dumped on us, the people. We had a decade of public service cuts, wage freezes, higher taxes, and devalued pensions and benefits.

The Tory government and big business intend to do the same again as the COVID-19 crisis passes.

That's why, last weekend, the Communist Party called for a £150bn 'Trident Dividend', cancelling the renewal of Britain's nuclear weapons system. This money should go into our health, social and emergency services and into productive industry. Invest in Weapons of Manufacturing Production - not Weapons of Mass Destruction!

Such a programme would only be possible across the English regions, Scotland and Wales when we are free from EU rules on state aid, competitive tendering and the free movement of capital. That means no extension of the Brexit 'transition period' after December this year.

All attempts to make working people and their families pay for the coronavirus crisis must be resisted. The British ruling class is still one of the wealthiest in the world. It's time to end the tax haven status of British overseas territories, open up the books and make the super-rich pay a modest Wealth Tax.

What next?

Saving more lives and protecting people at work must be the top priorities. That means no reckless rush into ending the lock-down.

There must be no return to unsafe working conditions and practices.

Now is the time for workers to join and strengthen trade unions in the workplace. Together, you have the strength to stop the job where your health and safety is at risk.

Government and employers have had no choice but to talk and listen to the unions in this crisis. Let's build on these advances and win respect and dignity for all workers in future.

How? For a start, let's end the category of 'low-paid workers'. The COVID crisis has shown how much we all depend on those who clean the hospitals, care for the elderly, staff the shops, deliver the food and so much else. And there are no 'low-paid bosses'.

Trade union representatives should be discussing and planning NOW to defend and improve workers' pay and conditions during and after a mass return to work.

Facing the future

There will be future pandemics of this kind. We need to campaign in our unions, local trades unions councils, community organisations and political parties for government action to prepare for them.

You can help make that happen. There should be local meetings and national conferences to review the past and plan for the future. The British, Scottish, Welsh and regional TUCs and the People's Assembly should call demonstrations thanking all front-line workers and demanding an end to low pay, investment in our emergency services and no more NHS privatisation.

Britain's Road to Socialism

The Communist Party makes no apology for always supporting and fighting for the interests of working people and their families. That's why the powerful and wealthy minority who own and run Britain oppose us and what we stand for.

During this crisis, our membership has grown by 13 per cent. This reflects the contribution made by the party and its members - especially those in frontline jobs and unions - to debate and action at every level.

This pandemic has shown how capitalism is a system designed to enrich the few, not to protect the many. There must be a better way of organising our society and its economy.

In the midst of this crisis, we have seen the values that could govern a socialist society - the courage, the unselfishness, the solidarity. And why shouldn't those who create the wealth - workers like you - enjoy much more of the fruits of their labour?

The Communist Party exists to help bring about revolutionary change. Find out more about us and and our programme, Britain's Road to Socialism, at communistparty.org.uk/programme/and facebook.com/CPBritain

Why not join Britain's Communists and shape a better future for all!

Yours in comradeship,

Robert Griffiths
General Secretary

I hope I don't come off as a poser. I sincerely believe in what I preach and hopefully I know as much about it as I think :D But I'm not going to stand here and try to pass myself off as an expert or anything close to one. And I know about Leon Trotsky and have done my best to read up on and understand his theory of permanent revolution, although it is a bit hard to figure out.

Well to an extent he's right. But, I do want to point out that Romanian was in no way a true communist country and it was not the fault of a failed revolution. It was a product of the Stalinist invasion of Eastern Europe, as I've said before. And if you think I was hard on anti-communism, I wasn't trying to be. I was posing valid arguments to combat his. But, really, we should be more open to people with other opinions. If we aren't open to others, are we not undermining our own cause? Communism is about total equality and freedom! It is not about turning on everyone who has a different outlook, even if it doesn't agree with your own.

By the way, please don't interpret my last post as a flame or 'hate-mail' or anything like that. I just wanted to point out that you were unfair and not entirely honest to that "social-anarchist" guy.

We all have shortcomings, both as individuals, and as organisations. But it's one thing to have shortcomings, but entirely another thing to pretend that those shortcomings don't exist and to attribute them to "Western lies" ;)

Oh, no friend! You are thinking about the western lies of Communism. In truth, Communism is about freedom and equality for all. We do not control what you think! And, from living in Russia, I worshipped no leader as a God, but merely a figure of authority. Most of us had great respect for our leaders, something that western democracy lacks.

I don't think he was thinking only about "Western lies". There are plenty of plain historical facts to back up his statement as well. Here's just one, more extreme, example: Caucescu built himself the *single largest palace on the entire planet* while the Romanian people were among the poorest in the world. In his arrogance, he demanded that the palace was built purely from Romanian materials and parts. So, even if one small item, like a certain type of gold furnishing, was cheaply available from Western Europe where it was mass-produced, Caucescu demanded that an entire factory be built in Romania to make that sort of part - even though the Romanian economy was already on the verge of disaster. As it happened, the view from this palace looked out onto some of the poorest parts of Bucharest. Caucescu didn't like this depressing view, so he ordered that all of the housing blocks in the area be torn down, leaving many of its inhabitants homeless.

Romania was suffering an economic catastrophe and the country was sinking into deeper and deeper misery. Many people died of starvation, yet Caucescu regularly appeared on TV 'inspecting' the various fruits and vegetables from the latest 'bountiful' harvests. TV showed him inspecting oranges, bananas, and all sorts of other foods. However, these were not actually available in Romania, as the economy was so distressed, and the fruit he was 'inspecting' was actually made of plastic!

The Romanian people were forced to stage frequent and regular massive shows where they praised Communism and Caucescu. They were huge events held at stadiums, where thousands of performers sung, danced, and so on (towards the end, this singing was pre-recorded and mimed by the performers, who were forced to take part, because they didn't particularly feel like singing). At the end, instead of the recieving applause themselves, the performers, together with the watching crowd, would turn around to face Caucescu up in his box seat and....applaud him! 'Freedom and equality for all'? I don't think so!

The most honest portrayal of Caucescu on TV the Romanian people saw in many years was when he and his wife were captured and executed on live TV for their crimes against the Romanian people.

Caucescu was maybe one of the more 'colourful' examples, but he was one of very many Communist leaders worldwide who became a slave to his own lust for power and greed, and who developed a cold contempt for his people.

Communism *is supposed to be* about freedom and equality for all. But *in truth*, to use your words, it has never, ever, reached that - and it never will.

Communism is a very nice ideology, but it has one massive flaw which has always been its downfall in the past, is currently its downfall in many countries today, and always will be its downfall in the future: human nature.

When someone has immense power, and this power is not challenged, and this person is not accountable to anyone - not to God, to competitors, to the public, or at least to voters - it is basically impossible for him/her to not succumb to it and become corrupted by it. The selfishness of human nature is simply too weak to withstand this, and even all the good-natured ideology in the world won't change this fact.

That's why Communism and giant capitalist corporations are in many ways very similar. They are ideologically and theoretically very different, but in reality, they actually represent the very same evil.
