Journal Entry: Mon Nov 5, 2012, 8:07 PM
Dear comrades of the Communist Party of DeviantART,
I would like to make all comrade members aware that our yearly Party Congress begins on November 7th. This will be the time when all members of the Party have direct influence upon the direction of the CPDA for the year to come. We will, as always, be holding discussion topics on what our comrade members wish to see done, votes on any CPDA policy issues, and of course voting on adding members to the Central Committee as Party Observers and voting on candidates for the Party's Central Executive Committee.
While the Congress does not begin for a few more days, I will urge anyone and everyone who would like to be considered for office within the Party to announce their candidacy through this journal's comments sections. Please state why you feel you would be qualified for the position. If anyone wants to just state that they wish to be nominated to the Central Committee as Observers in the Party's operations, announce so as well. While not required, any comrades wishing to run for one of the seven Executive Committee posts may submit artwork and writings to further demonstrate their qualifications and positions.
I will also take this time to announce the Party-Wide Discussions Points of the Congress. These topics will be discussed and (if decided by the membership) be voted upon:
Funding of the CPDA's Point account.
Possible changes to submission policies for artwork and writings.
Discussion on the exact role that Observer members of the Central Committee serve.
Finding a comrade skilled in CSS and Journal Skin talents to properly overhaul the Party Journal Skin.
The creation of a new Commissariat of Environmental Affairs.
The outcome of the United States Presidential Elections.
More topics to come as suggestions keep rolling in!
Votes will be held upon any proposals made during these discussion points. If there are any other topics comrades wish to propose for the Congress, please let us know.
I will also take this time to announce my candidacy for the office of General Secretary once more. I will make my case as simply as possible: I've been the Party's General Secretary for over two years, and if re-elected, I will do my best to continue guiding the Party in the interests of our comrade members. True to Marxist ideals, I shall put no individual interests above the good of the Party and our promotion of our Communist Cause.
Yet again, if you wish to run for any of the seven positions on the Central Executive Committee, please state your candidacy in the comments section. If any wish to be considered for nomination to the Central Committee as Junior Observer members, please announce your desire for nomination in the comments section.
The Party Congress will run until the 21st of November. All decisions made during the Congress will be carried out for the next year per the principles of Democratic Centralism. Remember, it is important that all members of the Party freely discuss any and all concerns at the Congress, as once decisions have been made they will be implemented.
