In case you wouldn't know yet, European Union just received the Nobel prize, this 12/10/2012 ( dd/mm/yy ).
The reason why, globally, according to the jury, is that despise the actual crisis inside EU, the Union managed to keep peace on the continent, worked on Franco-german reunification after the war, on reunification in general, and "fought for human rights", these last decades.
But as in Belgium radio doesn't stop to talk about it since it was announced, I won't extent on the subject.
In my case, I don't really think it's the best choice at all, the EU has became a puppet of banks and market/liberal/capitalist economy, and greatly lacks democracy inside it. I think someone such as Evo Morales for example, would deserve it more, for the improvement he has brought to the indigenous rights (cultural and democratic ones). But as the Nobel jury already made once the dumb choice of giving the price to Obama while he did nothing, I'm not surprised by such a non-sense.
But, the title says everything, what is your opinion about it? If you disagree with their choice, who would have deserved it according to you?
